- Do you find yourself making excuses not to exercise?
- Do you start a new exercise regimen but quickly lose motivation?
- Do you want to make exercise part of your daily routine?
There is no question that exercise is extremely beneficial to our health.
According to the NHS, people who exercise regularly have a lower risk of developing many long-term (chronic) conditions such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke, and some cancers.
Research shows that physical activity can also boost self-esteem, mood, sleep quality and energy, as well as reducing your risk of stress, depression, dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
Humans are designed to move, to exercise, to walk, run, and jump. So why aren't we doing more of it?
Well, there's two parts to this answer.
Firstly, because we tend to take the path of least resistance; we do what's easiest.
In modern life, we don't need to hunt and continually run away from danger. So if we can sit down and relax, why exercise unnecessarily?
The problem is that modern living has led to a sedentary existence that goes against our evolutionary code, which in turn has led to poor health.
Secondly, because we're creatures of habit.
If you're not already in the habit of exercising, then developing a habit can be quite challenging – particularly if you are battling personal issues around body image, or you lack confidence when it comes to sport and physical exercise.
However, those who exercise regularly will advocate that they can't do without it. When they don't exercise, they miss it. They actually feel more fatigued, less motivated, less inspired and creative, and more stressed and anxious.
This is because exercise has a huge impact on not just our physical health but our mental health.
Indeed, Dr. Adam Chekroud, the senior author of the largest study on the association between physical exercise and mental health, notes:
There is very strong evidence that there is a relationship between exercise and mental health. It seems like there are some sweet spots, and the relationship is probably complex. But even things like walking or household chores seem to have benefits.
How the Exercise Motivation Meditation Works
What stops most people from exercising who really want to is negative subconscious associations.
These include, but are not limited to the following:
Feeling exhausted; sweating; feeling cold when going outside in tracksuit bottoms and a T-shirt; feeling conscious that others are looking at us, particularly in the gym; and the thought that we could be doing something that we enjoy much more – such as watching a movie, spending time with a loved one, or eating comfort foods.
The truth is that we are unconsciously blocking ourselves from exercising. And this is why we find any excuse not to exercise and instead prioritize tasks that are nowhere near as good for our health or well-being.
But when you sit down and think about it, 30 minutes daily exercise is such a minor endeavor, especially when you consider that it can take that long to drive to the store and pick up a few groceries!
The key to developing a positive daily exercise routine is to overcome these mental barriers and develop the mindset of someone who is regularly exercising and enjoying the benefits.
And that's where our Exercise Motivation meditation can help you.
The Exercise Motivation meditation uses subliminal affirmations to create positive associations around exercise.
The subliminal messaging essentially redesigns this area of your subconscious mind. It replaces the negative associations and beliefs around exercise that promote a sedentary lifestyle, with positive associations and beliefs that will inspire you to exercise.
The subliminal affirmations are recorded above the human hearing threshold, so you don't actually hear an audible voice when you listen along.
When played back through headphones or over speakers, the subliminal affirmations bypass your conscious (hearing mind) and reach your subconscious mind, where they begin to change those negative associations with exercise.
Because you can't hear the subliminal messaging, the conscious mind is unaware of the affirmations underneath the music, which means it cannot dispute, judge or block the messaging; as we normally do with audible information and instructions in every day life. Instead, the messaging goes straight to your subconscious mind.
The positive affirmations will override those typical thoughts that prevent you from exercising: thoughts like “I can't be bothered”, “I don't like exercise”, “I'll go for a run tomorrow instead”.
With regular listening, your conscious mind will align with the messages received from the subconscious mind and your behavior will change in the following 6 ways:
- An increased drive to push past the mental resistance of laziness. Feel inspired to move and exercise.
- A drastic reduction in procrastination as you look forward to exercise each day.
- A positive, motivating mindset enjoyed by those who exercise regularly.
- See the gym/running/walking as a positive experience that makes you happier and healthier.
- No more fighting a battle with the thought of exercise. Just get it done!
- Reap the mental and physical health benefits of making exercise part of your daily routine.
Binaural Beats & Music Tuning
The music contains Alpha binaural beats frequencies (at 12 Hertz and 10 Hertz).
Alpha is known as “the flow state”: an optimal state of consciousness where we feel our best and perform at our best, where every thought and action unfolds effortlessly and we become one with “the self”. The frequencies in this range are associated with motivation and inspiration.
The music in the composition is tuned to 528 Hz, a frequency on the ancient Solfeggio scale. This popular frequency is said to promote an increase in energy, clarity of mind and awareness, and to activate the intention and intuition required to operate at your highest and best purpose.
The subliminal affirmations, Alpha binaural beats frequencies, and music tuning combine to create a powerful music therapy that will boost your level of motivation to exercise on a daily basis.
The meditation features 15 affirmations. These positive affirmations loop in a cycle underneath the music (non audible).
- I enjoy exercise
- I exercise every day
- Exercise is healthy
- Exercise makes my body stronger
- Exercise nourishes my mind
- I love being active
- I love going to the gym
- I love being outside
- I love to walk and run
- I am committed to fitness
- I always finish my workout
- I am motivated to be my best
- I enjoying training hard
- I am getting fitter every day
- Exercise is a big part of my life
Please note that in your download package we also provide you with an audible affirmations recording, in which the affirmations are spoken over the music. We provide this as some people do enjoy listening along to the spoken affirmations.
How to Use Exercise Motivation
The downloadable program contains 3 different versions of the music. Here's what you'll receive inside your order confirmation email.
- Track 1 (30 min & 1-hour versions): Music with Alpha binaural beats and subliminal affirmations. Headphones required for full effects.
- Track 2 (1-hour version): Music with Alpha binaural beats and audible affirmations. Headphones required for full effects. Listening through speakers will also offer the benefit of positive reinforcement through the audible affirmations.
- Track 3: (2-hour version): Silent affirmations recording. No music can be heard. Headphones not required.
* Note: the 1-hour version of Track 1 is an extended version designed for a longer listening experience. The audible affirmations version contains spoken-word affirmations, as opposed to the standard versions which contain inaudible (silent) subliminal affirmations).
There are three ways in which you can listen to the program:
Using headphones: To benefit fully from the binaural beats and the subliminal affirmations you should listen through headphones. You can be seated or lying down, whichever you prefer.
Please note that the Alpha binaural beats (frequencies) used within the music may induce a relaxed state, so please do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
Through speakers (no headphones): You can listen while you work, read, or engage in any other activity whereby you are in earshot of the music. You can also listen while you sleep.
Please note that listening in this way will not have the added benefit of the Alpha binaural beats, which require headphones to be fully effective. That said, the music is purposefully designed to be relaxing, so you will still feel relaxed while listening. And listening without headphones over speakers will give you the full subconscious entrainment of the subliminal affirmations.
Method 3 (Silent affirmations track):
With or without headphones: You can listen to the silent affirmations version using headphones or through speakers.
To do this, we have provided you with a 2-hour version of the silent subliminal affirmations. This version contains just the subliminal affirmations (no music or Alpha binaural beats).
You won't actually hear anything when listening to this track, but the subconscious entrainment will take place. This method is useful when you don't want music on or have other people in earshot that you don't want to distract. It also means you can listen on repeat without any sound disturbance. This is ideal when you are sleeping.
To fully understand how this works, you can read more on subliminal messaging in our FAQ.
Initially, we recommend listening to the program for at least 1-hour each day for 2 weeks. After that, you can set your own listening schedule and use the music as and when you feel you need to.
It's time to start embracing exercise and receiving the exponential benefits!
